An Interactive Program for Tapping Practitioners
The Right Words
Reading the Field Guide Is One Thing.
Building the Skill Is Another.
That's the Purpose of The Right Words Practice Program.
This program is structured around 144 choice points that may arise in any clinician's practice. For each, you sense into the moment, choose from optional phrasings, and are shown the reasoning behind every option. With these focused exercises, the right words will begin to emerge on their own.
Built on the peer-reviewed Attune / Explore / Lead framework presented in Frontiers in Psychology.

What They Are
What Are THE Right Words?
The question isn't which words are perfect. It's which words work better than others for this client, in this moment. There's no single right answer — only wording that serves the client and the therapy more or less well.
- The Right Words Need Only Be “Good Enough,” Not Polished or Perfect
- The Right Words Set a Direction — Attune, Explore, or Lead
- The Right Words Carry That Direction Forward
- The Right Words Stay Concrete and Close to the Client's Felt Experience
- The Right Words Are Brief
- The Right Words Keep the Client Safe
- The Right Words Know When to Wait
- The Right Words Are Offered, Not Imposed
- The Right Words Adjust to the Moment
- The Right Words Begin with Presence
These are explained more fully in the Field Guide.
The Client Is Distressed.
The Body Is Primed to Tap.
What Do You Say?
In acupoint tapping, the words aren’t incidental to the technique — they’re woven through it, phrase by phrase. The words you choose can decide whether a session merely soothes or brings real change. And when arousal runs high, the stakes climb: the words can help or harm.
The language of effective tapping has never been systematically mapped. Practitioners have learned it by example, principles, and practice, but not through a systematic framework of the language functions themselves. That's been left to intuition, developed over years of clinical experience.
How it works
Practice for the Words Themselves
Read the moment
Sense the direction the next phrase should take — attune, explore, or lead.
Choose the phrasing
Decide on the most effective wording for advancing in that direction.
See the reasoning
Every option is explained — why one lands, why another subtly misfires — so the discernment becomes yours.
In this program, each item drops you into a real clinical moment. You don't read about the skill — you make the call, then see the thinking behind every option, from clinical errors to solid choices to nuanced calls that ordinarily require years of experience.
The program
Three Graduated Tiers
The path builds in the way that skills build — from recognizing the moment, to shaping the phrase, to the fine discriminations that mark seasoned work.
Tier One · Foundations
Sensing the Direction
At the foundation: recognizing what the moment is asking for. You will learn to read the moment across a wide range of presentations, until direction comes more readily.
48 clinical choice points
Tier Two · Craft
Shaping the Phrase
More challenging: the direction is clear, but many wordings are possible. You practice distinguishing a phrase that merely fits from one that leads to genuine progress.
48 clinical choice points
Tier Three · Mastery
Sophisticated Discernment
The finest grain: some choices so close that only timing, sequence, and a feel for the client tell them apart. You practice the discriminations that separate a wording that works from the one that lands best.
